Lodranite Meteorite Classification

Class Description

A “Lodranite” is a type of primitive achondrite meteorite that belongs to the acapulcoite-lodranite family. These meteorites have lost their chondritic texture due to heating and partial melting but still retain a composition that is nearly chondritic. The acapulcoite-lodranite family includes closely related meteorites known as acapulcoites and lodranites, with lodranites having a higher degree of fractionation in their subchondritic compositions.
