LL<3.5 Meteorite Classification

Class Description

The “LL<3.5” meteorite classification describes a group of ordinary chondrites from the LL (low-iron, low metal) chemical group, which are characterized by having experienced very low levels of metamorphism, less than the petrologic type 3.5. This means they have retained more of their original features, including a higher abundance of chondrules and less alteration of their primary minerals.
