H(?)4 Meteorite Classification

Class Description

The H(?)4 classification indicates a meteorite that likely belongs to the H group of ordinary chondrites, characterized by a high iron content, and is at petrologic type 4, though its exact group classification remains uncertain. This type 4 meteorite has undergone significant metamorphism, enough to evenly blend olivine compositions and reform its fine-grained matrix, while still retaining abundant chondrules and a lack of primary igneous chondrule glass.
