Class Description

The classification “H3-4” refers to a type of meteorite called an ordinary chondrite from the H group. This meteorite is a mixture, known as a breccia, of two different types: type 3 and type 4. Type 3 components have abundant chondrules and show minimal alteration, while type 4 components have undergone metamorphism that has changed the composition of certain minerals and obliterated some features.
