H Meteorite Classification

Class Description

The “H” group represents a category of ordinary chondrites notable for their high iron content and significant presence of siderophile (iron-loving) elements. Characterized by relatively small chondrules, approximately 0.3 millimeters in size, these meteorites have oxygen isotope compositions that align more closely with the terrestrial fractionation line compared to other ordinary chondrites.
